A Day in the Life of My Self Care Sunday Routine

Some of my Sundays are dedicated to my holistic self-care and prepping for the upcoming week. I decided to turn it into a blog post so y’all can see how I get organized.

Before I jump in, though, I wanted to share what self-care means to me. I used to think it meant retail therapy, bubble baths and face masks. But, I see it differently now. Self-care to me means restoring my mind and making room for clarity and focus. Sometimes that means pausing to reflect and other times that means checking things off my to-do list that I’ve been putting off.

So, here we go:

9:30am: // Breakfast solo at home

10:02am // Clean up the first floor with Erykah Badu in rotation

10:54am: // Call my parents to say hey and remind myself of my “why”

11:22am: // Spend time on the patio with coffee to map out my to-do list for the week

12:07pm // Iron my clothes for work for the week

12:30pm // Let the dogs out and feed them lunch

12:44pm // Bubble bath with Daniel Cesar playing in the background

1:20pm // Charcoal face mask (I love this one from Yes to Tomatoes)

1:34pm // Meditation using the Headspace app

2:11pm // Review our monthly budget to make sure we’re on track & bills are up to date

3:24pm // Eat my chicken quesadilla (that I shamelessly ordered via Uber Eats)

4:00pm // Read my book for the month (The New Jim Crow) while drinking some Rose

5:10pm: Meal prep for the week

9:18pm: Quality time with D outside around the fire pit

10:29pm: Shower, lights off, sleep on

It was the most amazing Sunday, lol. While I don’t do this every weekend, there are some like this when I get laser focused and prioritize my self-care. I’d love to hear from y’all! What does a typical self-care day look like for you?
