Let me tell y’all about one my fave brunch places that’s delicious and low-key: McGinty’s Public House. Located right in downtown Silver Spring, McGinty’s is an Irish-style pub with an outdoor space, a two-story bar plus a restaurant that’s open at night. The ambiance is laid back–jeans and a t-shirt are perfect–and the staff is always so friendly. Okay, now let’s get to the food, lol.R
Pre-Fixe Brunch Menu
One of the things I love most about McGinty’s is their pre-fixe brunch menu. For $20.95, you get a starter, entree, dessert plus a mimosa or bloody mary. D and I always get the pre-fixe and never have room for dessert, but somehow make a way because it’s so good. This time when we went, D ordered the pre-fixe: Roasted Beet Salad, Corned Beef Hash, Crepes Brûlée. I didn’t do pre-fixe this time since the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict wasn’t included, so I just ordered that. Let me tell y’all, the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict is the best I’ve had in the DC area so far. It has so much flavor, the egg is cooked just right so it isn’t extremely messy, the crab cake isn’t charred like most places have and the English muffin is so fresh. I love it and I order it every single time, lol.

D and I have also tried their Banana Custard French Toast which is really good, too. I just love crab cake so much that I get it every time, lol. Their mimosas and bloody mary’s are good too, not really strong but you’ll be so full from the food that you won’t need a strong drink–or a drink at all.
Besides the pre-fixe menu, they have a lot of other good brunch options like Scampi and Grits, Avocado Toast (starter), Irish Smoked Salmon and even some good food choices for kids. Here’s a link to their brunch menu. Finally, I love that McGinty’s is near so much shopping like DSW, Michael’s, Ulta, LOFT and even activities like Color Me Mine, the movie theater and the Silver Spring Civic Center, which creates an ice skating rink outside during winter months. So it’s a nice place to stop during a shopping trip or even a family day out in downtown Silver Spring.
If you’re staying at a hotel in Silver Spring or just want to venture to the area for brunch, stop by McGinty’s for their delicious brunch. Let me know what you think!
